Laser is a very effective tool in the production, verification and traceability of medical and pharmaceutical devices. The huge advantages are especially in the areas of minimal thermal impact, degradation and high process repeatability with an accuracy of 0.02 mm/s with automatic position and quality control.

Drilling of catheters

The technology of ultra fast lasers with pulse lengths ranging from picoseconds to hundreds of femtoseconds allows the processing of all types of polymer materials used on the market. By integrating the lasers into the Vario device, we ensure maximum repeatability, high accuracy up to ±0.02 mm. Of course, there is minimal thermal influence, which allows drilling catheters with a wall thickness of 0.1 mm and a hole diameter of 80 µm.

Micro trimming

Trimming of filler needles and epidural catheters using laser technology (so-called micro-trimming) solves problems with stretching and deformation of the material. Integrated output control eliminates NOK pieces and increases production productivity with high process safety and repeatability.

Micro-cutting of polymers

Laser micro-cutting allows even thin-walled polymers to be processed without sinking the material using a short pulsed laser with lower wavelengths of 532 nm or 355 nm. All this with minimal requirements for wall thickness stability with the possibility of back-verification of quality and cross-sectional area.

Micro welding of metals

The laser beam enables very precise welding of small parts such as fillers, catheters and other similar tools from 0.02 mm. By means of camera position verification, we can selectively adjust the micro-position of the laser beam without having to adjust the positioner.
