Your responsibilities:
- Participate in the production of optical assemblies for head-up displays used in fighter aircraft
- Assemble precision mechanical and optical components
- Record measured parameters and inspection data
- Inspect and maintain records of optical components
- Assemble special-purpose machines and robotic cells
- Perform toolmaking and conventional machining operations
- Work closely with the Mechanical Design department
- Work in a cleanroom flow box under controlled clean working conditions
What we’re looking for
- Vocational qualification in a technical field
- Experience operating conventional machining equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and engineering standards
- Ability to work accurately within very tight tolerances
- Experience with functional model building (e.g. model aircraft, boats, or cars) is an advantage
- Ability to work independently
- Reliability and attention to detail
- Non-smoker, as the position involves working in a clean controlled environment (flow box)
