Mechanical Technician (Head-Up Displays for Fighter Aircraft)

Your work will involve assembling optical components for head-up displays used in fighter aircraft, performing precision mechanical assembly, recording measurement data, and inspecting optical components.

Your responsibilities:

Participate in the production of optical assemblies for head-up displays used in fighter aircraft
Assemble precision mechanical and optical components
Record measured parameters and inspection data
Inspect and maintain records of optical components
Assemble special-purpose machines and robotic cells
Perform toolmaking and conventional machining operations
Work closely with the Mechanical Design department
Work in a cleanroom flow box under controlled clean working conditions

What we’re looking for

Vocational qualification in a technical field
Experience operating conventional machining equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and engineering standards
Ability to work accurately within very tight tolerances
Experience with functional model building (e.g. model aircraft, boats, or cars) is an advantage
Ability to work independently
Reliability and attention to detail
Non-smoker, as the position involves working in a clean controlled environment (flow box)
